Books I just HAD to buy but are still sitting unread on my shelf

Okay, So from the heading of this post you should all have figured out what I’m going to be talking about today. This will probably apply to some of you readers out there! I have a bad habit of buying books that I just have to read and having them sit on my shelves for AGES.

I guess you could put this down to laziness, but let me tell you. I think it’s a little different! You know sometimes you just have this absolute need to read a book so you pick it up and just go with it and end up finishing it within a couple of hours or days. This usually occurs with me, and usually those books I have brought stay on my shelves because I fell like I’m not ready to read them yet. Hence why they are left unread. It’s funny though, seeing my parents question my whole process. They just don’t understand why I keep going out and buying more books to sit on my shelf. I guess anyone who doesn’t read wouldn’t understand. It doesn’t really matter how long they have been on my shelves, it could be months or days, I will end up reading them!

So without further analysis about this topic, I guess I should tell you guys all about these books that I have not read yet that are feeling lonely on my bookshelf.

Tag: Book Characters

G’day fellow readers! How are you all so far in the New Year? So today I will go ahead and do the ‘Character book Tag’, which will include a whole lot of questions in regards to the book I have read! So let’s go!

1 – Who is the best kick ass character

If you have to ask me this, then you obviously don’t know me very well since I have been ranting about this for SO LONG NOW😂 *cough* Rose Hathaway *cough* Did you expect something different???

2 – Which character do you most dislike?

Jesus, well, where do I start. I’m just going to put this out there, that this is my opinion and that is all. But I have never really been a big fan of John Green’s work, especially his book ‘Looking for Alaska’ and also ‘The Fault in our stars’. I did in fact read half (around there) of his book looking for Alaska and I just couldn’t do it. The main character was just so annoying. His narration just annoyed me so much I couldn’t deal with reading it anymore. Chill guys, don’t bite my head off!!

Book Review: Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

Warm Bodies-1.jpg“R is having a no-life crisis–he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cosy 747 he calls home or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilisation.

And then he meets a girl.

First as his captive, then his reluctant guest, Julie is a blast of living colour in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn’t want to eat this girl–although she looks delicious–he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight.”

January TBR!

Hello from the other side [of 2016] *sings in Adele’s voice*

giphy.gif

Anyways, Hello guys! We are officially in 2016 (yes I know you all know this but whatever), and since it’s a new month I will be writing the ritual ‘*insert Month here* TBR’! (I can sense all the excitement😂)

As you all know so far, I have been doing my TBR very differently, this is because I was finding it difficult to stick to the set books for the month. Because you all know that feeling when you don’t want to read a book, so you put it off until like 4 months later, but whatever!

So, it’s a fresh new year, and to start this year off with a bang, I’m going to give myself

FEED by MIRA GRANT

 {882618C0-F78C-40E2-ADC4-BFBF321C170A}Img400.jpg

as my set reading for this month! Let’s do this!! (as you can already tell I’m very pumped for this year, it’s going to be full of reading and amazingness {did I really just type that, Ignore!})

I have a few book reviews coming your way as well, these include the following:

  • Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
  • Stolen by Lucy Christopher
  • This is where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

So stay tuned my friends!!

Happy new year to you all and I wish you all the very best. May your blog and life be filled with books!
