“A Story Filler with a Disappointing Plot”
I was so very excited to find that the next book to the ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses‘ series had come out so I could find out what happens next for some of my favourite characters. However, I have to say I was a little let down by the plot of the book. There seemed to be some exciting things happening, like finding out more about Cassian and Mor and their backstory. I, however, thought that the book was one big story filler. Don’t get me wrong, I loved reuniting with these characters and seeing what happened next with their lives and how they are coping with everything that has happened so far but it the book just felt odd. I think my expectations for the book were way too high as I thought this book would be like the others.
From the blurb and descriptions that I have read about the book, it was created to show how the inner circle has healed after the devastation from the last novel. And I think that Maas did a great job at this. I felt like the characters were written well and Maas didn’t stray from the characters personalities as they dealt with their struggles which I do find happens from time to time when authors try to write in this way. The characters felt true to themselves.
It was nice to see more of Feyre and Rhysands relationship and see them grow together through the obstacles. It was really nice to experience this and see some kind of growth from all the characters, even if it was only a little.
To be completely honest, I did somewhat enjoy reading this book, even though I felt like it was a story filler. I especially loved the ‘sneak peek’ chapter at the end of the book and found that a lot more interesting and it really sparked my interest in the next one. I want to know what will happen next.

I will be giving ‘A Court of Frost and Starlight‘ by Sarah J.Maas a ⭐️⭐️(2) out of 5 stars. The book was good and had some character development and backstory but it lacked in the plot for me. I still did enjoy reading it though and will be checking out the next book in the series.
